WHAT IS PURECHAR?

The short answer is that Metzler pureChar is high carbon content and highly stable biochar.

WHERE TO USE PURECHAR

Metzler pureChar is pure biochar, and there are tons of different applications for it. It works great in the livestock industry to help reduce ammonia levels from the soil - which is a really big deal when raising poultry.

Properly inoculated biochar improves the water holding capacity and nutrient transfer of your soil on the farm and in your home garden

Biochar removes nutrients and heavy metals from stormwater that pollute our streams and lakes.

Another lesser-known use of biochar is in the construction industry. Construction companies can mix PureChar into concrete and asphalt for a greener product limiting the carbon footprint of the project.

THE BENEFITS OF PURECHAR

In the garden, biochar's honeycomb structure increase particle surface area for adsorption of water and nutrients, it's negative charge attracts positively charged nutrients and it's voids are a condo for microbes.  All that together makes water and nutrients more available to your plants.

For stormwater management, biochar's honeycomb structure does the same thing to capture nutrients and metals.

In the barn yard, biochar helps to keep bedding drier which helps make animals healthier, reduces odor and makes your litter or bedding a much better fertilizer.

HOW PURECHAR WORKS

Exactly how biochar works is a bit complicated, but a large portion of the benefits come down to two things. First, the honeycomb structures that help it retain moisture.

Second, the negative charges build up on the surface of  biochar that attracts nutrients for improved plant growth.
